The new CGOA Crocheters of the Jersey Shore club is only two months old!  They have 20 members and meet once a month in a private home.  (Contact Judy for location directions and time of meetings.)  You can also visit their website at Crocheters of the Jersey Shore and their Facebook page.

The experienced members of this club tackle round and Tunisian stitch projects, as well as crochet hats and blankets.  Beginners are taught the basic stitches by members of the club, so that they can begin their own projects.  Members also crochet for charity and some of their current projects include, crocheting and donating hats and full blankets to Oceans of Love (medical center for children with cancer), along with hats and lap blankets for chemo and radiation patients at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, New Jersey.  In the past they have donated hats to Ocean Medical Center in Bricktown, New Jersey.  They would love to receive donations of wool for their charity projects, and any donations of hats or blankets would be delivered to a hospital in need.  Members plan to have Show & Tell at their meetings, as well as, mid-month workshops to learn how to make scarves and sweaters.  They would also like to arrange field trips to the local alpaca farms in their town and attend CGOA's bi-yearly conferences.  They are off to a great start!  Contact Judy for more club info.

We made another wonderful donation to Jersey Shore University Hospital today (25 hats, 6 blankets, 3 infant sweaters); thanks to a wonderful group of stitchers!
